HOTELS For Umbria Itinerary #3- Spoleto

We have a range of top notch hotels in Spoleto. Here is some basic info about four of them:

Hotel Clitunno:

Managed by the Tomassoni family since 1968 the Hotel Clitunno is a 3 star hotel with a great atmosphere full of great charm adn warm hospitality. It is an elegant hotel in the form of a recently renovated historical building. Overlooking the Piazza Sordini this hotel is just minutes away from the Duomo and the Rocca. This hotel has great views, beautiful rooms and is in the perfect destination for you to walk to the amazing theatres adn stunning historicakl sites of the area. The hotel itself is stunning with a balanced combination of classic tradition and modern taste. there are 3 styles of room (plus 2 suites): ‘Old Style’, ‘Executive’ and ‘Standard.’ All of which come with WiFi, a hairdryer, AirCon and Stalelite TV including CNN and Sky. there is also the a la carte restaraunt San Lorenzo, teh food from which can be enjoyed inside or out in the quaint little square. Hotel Arca:

Hotel Arca is a simpler, 3 star Hotel. It has 57 ensuite rooms over 3 floors, connected by lifts and indoor staircase. Each room has its own bathroom with shower, colour tv, telephone with outside line and a ceiling ventilator. The hotel is comfortable, pratical and tastefully furnished, with stunning views of the green Umbrian hills.  There is also a restaraunt and American Bar described by the hotel as being ‘large with panoramic windows and a great view of the hills,’ they say ‘it offers the best selection of local and national cuisine, together with an unequalled selection of Umbrian wines. Quick service menu available for groups which satisfies the tastes of all, while offering individuals a vast à la carte choice.’ here are some pictures:

Hotel San Luca:

Hotel San Luca is a 4 star hotrel run by the Zuccari family and is an elegant and sophiscated hotel witha warm and familiar atmosphere. The building is mainly 19th Century design and the courtyard is home to the Holy Wellspring; a fountain that displays a stone tablet from 1601. This hitorical tabelt shows the City of Spoleto’s coat of arms, St. Ponziano on horseback and a depiction of Prospero Biscuri or Bisonti. Thsi 4 star hotel has a range of rooms including: Classic, Comfort, Superior, Junior Suite and Suite. All of them are comfortable, spacious and bright. All rooms are soundproofed, with internet access and satellite TV. There are also two rooms especially designed for disabled guests and pets are welcome of warning is given before arrival. Breakfast is served in the courtyard and there is a restaurant in the hotel but reservations must be made.

Hotel dei Duchi:

Hotel dei duchi is a 4 star hotel set in the middle of of Ancajani Park. views of the Roman Theatre, the former monastery of S. Agatha and the surrounding valley allow guests to enjoy the history and culture of the town of Spoleto without even leaving their rooms. This hotel was built in 1957 and is carefully furnished to ensure maximum comfort; it also includes private, onsite parking exculsively for guests. There is a range of rooms- Triple, Classic, Comfort, Superior, Junior Suite and Suite- all of which have amazing panoramic views and come with satellite TV, a mini-bar, a direct dial phone, Internet access and air conditioning. The restaurant at Hotel dei Duchi is elegant with amazing views and offers specialities typical of the local and regional cuisine. It is open to all staying guests and other vistors. The hotel also has a garden which is a wonderful palce to relax especially in the summer as it looks over the Roman Theatre which hosts numerous concerts and dance performances during the evenings of the Spoleto Festival and Spoleto Summer.
